Booking an appointment online using Patient Services 

We have currently suspended our online appointments due to temporary measures in place for the Coronavirus.  Please contact the surgery by phone if you need to make an appointment.

A limited number of pre-bookable GP appointments online will go live from 1st March 2019.  These appointments will be bookable 48 hours in advance via the link below.

If you are already registered for online prescriptions through the Patient Services website you do not need to do anything, and this service will be available to you from 1st March 2019.  If you are not already registered for online services, and you would like to take advantage of online appointment booking, please download the registration form here and hand it in to the surgery with your ID documentation.

How to see your doctor

You may choose to consult any doctor and not only the doctor with whom you are registered. However it is recommended that you follow through an illness with the same doctor. The practice has a ‘Same Day’ appointment system, patients will therefore be allocated an appointment time on the day of telephoning. Appointments are allocated from 08.30 am on a daily basis - Please telephone the surgery on 01698-265566 and select option 1 for a routine 'same day' appointment. Please note that appointments can fill up really quickly and we would recommend phoning as early as possible. Patients can express a preference to see a particular doctor, however we may not be able to accommodate this on the same day appointment basis. Pre-bookable early Monday and Thursday morning appointments are available for patients who have work commitments.

Please note that a separate appointment should be made for each patient wishing to be seen by the doctor .

Telephone Consultations

If you wish a telephone consultation with a doctor or practice nurse, please advise the receptionist. 

Video Consultation

Instead of travelling to your appointment, you can attend a GP consultation online via a video call.

There is no need to create an account and no information that you enter online is stored, however you do need to have made an appointment for a video consultation with the surgery in advance.

If you feel you require a home visit please telephone before 11.15am. The doctor will determine if a house visit is necessary and may call you back to discuss the most appropriate place for you to be seen.

Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the Medical Centre.

Genuine emergencies will be dealt with at any time. Please make it clear to the receptionist if you feel your call is an emergency.

The practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. We will only release test results to the person to whom they relate unless that person has given prior permission for the release of this data or they are not capable of understanding the results. 

When phoning for test results, please note that these will only be available Monday to Friday between 1.00pm and 4.00pm - Please phone within these times

From 6.00p.m to 8.00a.m. each weekday and from 6.00p.m. Friday to 8.00a.m. Monday, our ‘out of hours’ service is provided by NHS 24.

If you require urgent advice during those hours, please contact NHS 24 by dialling 111, you will be connected with a nurse who will assess your symptoms.

The nurse advisor will then suggest an appropriate course of action. If you need to see a doctor, the nurse will arrange this for you at one of the Primary Care Out of Hours Centres. If you require further information on this service, leaflets are available at reception.
