EXTENDED HOURS APPOINTMENTS

Pre-bookable appointments will be available with a GP or a nurse on Monday and Thursday mornings from 07:00 till 08:30 am.

These appointments are for patients who work and are unable to attend surgery during normal surgery opening hours.

NO APPOINTMENTS!

A major part of this problem is the number of wasted appointments.

DESPITE OUR 'SAME DAY' APPOINTMENT SYSTEM

Keeping treatment room and practice nurse appointments is just as important as with your GP.

If you are unable to keep an appointment, it is essential to cancel it as soon as possible, as we may be able to offer it to another patient.

Welcome to Modyrvale Medical Centre

This surgery website is used to present all our patients with up to date news and information about our practice, and hopefully signpost you to useful and current health information.  We will keep it up to date with any developments or other details that we feel are relevant to you.

As well as a source of information about the surgery, the staff and the services we provide, we hope you will use this website as a useful resource for other health-related information.  Please have a look around and do send us some feedback if you feel there is any way we can improve our online services and further develop the content of this site to meet the needs of our patients.

New telephone system

We know it has been difficult to get through on the phone.  We have listened to your feedback and have therefore looked at a new system which will allow call queuing.  On 1st September 2023 our new telephone system went live and this was installed by the NHS Lanarkshire telecoms team.  The system is similar to those already in place in other health centres/

This means that things might seem a bit different when you try to phone, but please bear with us as we all try to get used to the new system.

  • Our lines will still be open from 8.30am till 6.00pm Monday to Friday, and calls will still be answered by our reception team.
  • There will be an increased number of incoming lines.
  • You will be given a position in the queue.
  • Our prescription line will remain open as it currently is between 12.00 noon and 4.00pm Monday to Friday.
  • Test results are available between 1.00pm and 4.00pm Monday to Friday.
  • You should continue to phone 01698-755346 for treatment room or phlebotomy appointments.

We do hope that this will improve patient access to the surgery.

Apologies in advance if there are any teething problems during the installation which will commence on 1st September 2023.

Thank you for your patience

Contacting the surgery

To assist us in continuing to provide ongoing care in very difficult circumstances we have introduced a number of measures as follows:

Our on the day appointment service is available.  Phone lines are open from 08.30 am Monday to Friday.

Booking an appointment online - unfortunately this service remains temporarily closed.

A range of appointments are available on a daily basis.  Reception staff will need to ask the reason for your appointment, and this can include taking detailed information on your symptoms.  This will help us provide the best possible care.  A range of appointments are available on a daily basis, including:

  • A telephone consultation
  • A face-to-face appointment with the GP or other clinician
  • A video link appointment from your phone/iPad or computer - NHS Lanarkshire Near Me by Attend Anywhere is available here

Attend Anywhere

Extended hours appointments - These pre-bookable appointments are for people who work and cannot attend during normal working hours.

Phoning the Surgery - Telephone lines remain very busy at peak times and we apologise that this can be very frustrating.  Please note that if you are waiting a phone call from the doctor it may display as "No Caller ID" on your phone.

Repeat Medication - there is no change to the process for ordering your repeat medication however it would be helpful if you advise the reception team of your preferred pharmacy so that we can arrange for your prescription to be sent directly to the pharmacy.  Note that the online repeat prescription service is in use and anyone registered for this service can continue to order medication in the normal manner.  Note that due to the current fluctuating demand on local pharmacies it may take longer than normal for your prescription to be ready and we would advise you to allow 4-5 working days.
